An automatic and accurate technique for the generation of scalable lumped-models of mm-wave passive components using full-wave EM simulation tool is presented. The generation of the lumped-models is based on EM simulator results that are extensively verified by measurements. Techniques for effective simulation that are resource conservative yet accurate for various components are outlined. In order to economize the number of simulations and subsequent model extraction, rational function expansion and commercial EM optimizer tools are employed Additionally, the whole process is completely automatic yielding full utilization of computer resources. Since the method is generic, the library generation method is usable when substrate or processes are modified saving resources and time.
